Tom and I live on a farm just out of Port Neill with our 2 daughters.

We have owned Olive House Accommodation since 2015 and here is our story.

21 years ago Lorraine and Ray, my very hardworking Grandparents, bought 64 West Tce.

They started a massive renovation with the aim to provide Kimba with a self contained

accommodation option. After about a year of business, they were amazed at the high demand for this

type of accommodation so they bought 27 Railway tce and set it up as the second Olive House Bed and

Breakfast. They operated this business for 17 years until they decided to put the houses on the market

and retire in Adelaide.

Tom and I could see that this business had been successful in the past and so we thought we would

have a crack at running it ourselves. We bought West tce in 2015 and then Railway tce in 2018.

Since 2015 we have learnt a lot and we continue to learn as we go!

There is no way we could run this business without our trusty helpers Raelene and Leesa.

Raelene came as a package deal with the houses, she worked with Gran and Pa when they owned

them and she continues to help us out now. She knows how everything works in both houses and

I can’t think of a single time that she has said no to helping us out!

Leesa started with us soon after we bought West tce, she is seriously particular about cleaning and

gardening and makes sure the houses are always perfectly presented, she is also very dedicated to her

job and is extremely reliable. We are so lucky to have them both.

We also rely heavily on the local businesses and having accounts at various local shops means that the

girls can just get what they need from Kimba when they need it. We often call on local tradies to get

us out of trouble as well!

We love what we do and are so lucky to own this business in such a proactive little town.
